Lake Max Tri, Aug. 11 at the Culver Acadmies
CULVER, IN—The Lake Max Triathlon will take place Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Culver Academies. Adult races will start at 8:30am. This year features an adult sprint triathlon, an adult duathlon, and a kids’ triathlon. The adult triathlon includes an out-and-back 400-meter swim in Lake Maxinkuckee with the start at the Navel Building, an 11-mile bike ride around the lake, and a 5K run that takes a scenic route around campus. The duathlon is a 2K run, 11-mile bike, followed by a 5K run.
The kids’ races begin at 10:30am, in time for participating parents to be finished and able to watch. The course will vary by age group, ranging from a 50-75 meter swim, a 1-mile bike ride, and a ½- to 1-mile run. The Culver Boys and Girls Club will be on hand to help the kids in transition and pre race.
The night before the race athletes can enjoy a party in the park including live music after packet pick-up and body marking. Of course, we have to party post race as well. Race participants will enjoy chef-prepared food, on-site massage therapy, and a live band. There will even be a beer garden for the adults and a root beer garden for the kids! This is a great chance for families to do something together.
You can register online at trisignup.com. There is no race day registration and prices will increase July 29 for adults and August 9 for kids. All money raised goes to local charities
