SOUTH BEND, IN — LOGAN’s Run aficionados will remember volunteer race director Jamie McGraw’s 2013 5K challenge celebrating the event’s 10th year. That year, Jaime raised $17,000. This year, in honor of the Run’s 15th anniversary, Jamie has challenged 15 friends to run with him, in person or in spirit. Each member the elite team of Jamie’s Challengers is working to raise at least $1,000 for LOGAN. (Want to get in on the fun? LOGAN’s Run attracts up to 600 participants annually, culminating in a community spirit that can’t be matched. Held on the campus of the University of Notre Dame, LOGAN’s Run is a race that has it all:
- 5K, 10K—for those who like a little competition on fast, flat (beautiful) campus routes. (Awards given for first-, second- and third-place finishers in each age division.)
- 1-mile fun walk—for those who prefer a more leisurely tour of the campus scenery
- cheering—for those who like to exert energy in a sharing kind of way
- Family Fun Fest—for all who enjoy carnival-type rides and games.
“The children and adults we serve participate in all the activities,” said Nancy Miller, director of marketing & communications, LOGAN Community Resources, Inc. “Team LOGAN helps set the tone of the day with spirit and energy, and they also lead the way on the 1-mile fun walk.”
LOGAN’s Run raises vital funds each year for the services and supports LOGAN provides to children and adults living with the challenges of intellectual and developmental disabilities. In 2017, the event raised more than $100,000. This year’s goal: $150,000. “Come on out and help make it happen!” says Team LOGAN.
