Granger Paths, May 19 – HorizonElementary School, Granger, IN

Granger Paths is working towards expansion! Come on out on Sunday, May 19th for the 14th annual Granger Paths 5k and 1 mile Family Fun Run. The race will be held at Horizon Elementary School, with a start time of 9:30am. They are excited about this NEW location this year, and made this change because it is the end-goal of the next phase of proposed paths.

If you aren’t familiar with Friends of Granger Paths, they are a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to bringing about multi-use paths to connect Granger neighborhoods and points of interest. Running, or riding a bike on paths along Adams Road between Gumwood and Bittersweet Trail is now possible because of their advocating and fundraising. The same can be said for the paths on SR 23 between Brick and Adams and Gumwood Road between Adams and Heritage Square. Their next goal is to bring pathways to the east side of Granger connecting Bittersweet to Ash Road and continuing on until connecting to Horizon Elementary and Discovery Middle School.

In addition to the race and walk, Granger Paths hosts an expo with local vendors and plenty of community spirit.

Every dollar raised from the 5K and 1 mile run on May 19th will go towards the new proposed phase of   paths. The event has support from over 50 local sponsors including donated food from Urban Swirl and Einstein Bagels. Face Painting for the kids will be done by Wine and Canvas, and trainers from Orange Theory Fitness will lead the pre-race stretches. You will want to hang around after the event for some awesome raffle items. Pre-register for the event to save a few dollars and be guaranteed a t-shirt by May 8th here: https://runsignup.com/Race/IN/Granger/GrangerPaths or you can register the morning of the race.
